After a hectic week with children under the weather, long days, and longer nights - I was seriously craving some time alone out in the fresh air. This morning, with both children feeling much better and off to their respective day care arrangements, I headed out with Ruby, my labrador pup.
The sun was shining down, and I decided to venture off the farm to a local footpath that leads through a small woodland. It makes a change from the fields I normally walk through, and I find something really restorative about walking through the trees - especially this time of year when the ground is completely covered in a beautiful carpet of leaves.
At the end of the woodland, I put my camera away and retraced my steps back to the car, with no camera. Just taking in the sights and sounds, being present in the moment. What a lovely way to spend a child free hour. My nature seeking partner in crime loved the walk even more than I did I think :)
