Well, a month ago I posted in #hdygg showing my efforts to try and pretty up some of the more 'rustic' (agricultural!) aspects of the Yurt entrance and car park. I am delighted to now be able to show off some of the Sunflowers that are gracing the edge of the barn round the car par side! My aim was to screen off the corrugated walls of the barn with a bit of colour, and to make it look a bit more cheerful. Job done! Next year though, I am going to plant even more - maybe a couple of rows deep. Look how tall they are against my 3 year old! He was impressed :)
I just love these flowers - I will hopefully be able to harvest the seeds and keep them for planting next year - free flowers! Yay!
The entrance area is definitely looking brighter and more cared for with my little arrangement of pots and Nasturtiums and Geraniums! I think the splash of red looks lovely, and it makes me smile driving past this every day on the way home.
The herb border by the kitchen door at the barn, is now bursting with herbs and Nasturtiums! I am so pleased. Last year this was just a patch of earth in front of the Rosemary, that people walked over - now it looks really established. I am amazed! In here, herb wise, we have Rosemary, Mint, Thyme, Sage, and Chives.
That's it for this week - next week is the start of the Summer Holidays at the yurts, so I am so pleased that we have Sunflowers to greet people, and herbs for some al Fresco cooking!
